Arts Alive Maleny is a vibrant event hosted in the main street of Maleny that brings the whole town and the incredible talent of the arts community to life all in one evening!

As the sun sets, the main street of Maleny will close to traffic, and come alive with lanterns, light shows and art projections, live music, street performances, and interactive art exhibitions, installations, dance, puppetry, and theatre, comedy, poetry, and pop up workshops, along with a range of intimate gatherings in local cafes and restaurants, artisan stalls and so much more.

    Sweet Chilli is a joyful all-female choir from Maleny, that has been singing for over 20 years! They celebrate women’s voices and perform global songs that honour Earth, culture, and community. Beautiful harmonies, sacred messages, and serious heart—this group sings with soul.

    POP UP WORKSHOPS

    The Joy Collective is where creativity and community collide! A buzzing gallery and café in Maleny, it’s a space for local art, cozy conversations, and divine coffee. Exhibitions rotate, inspiration flows, and every visit offers something new and joyfully unexpected.

    FACE PAINTING

    For 25 years, Tina McDermaid has brought fairy magic to community events through face painting, art, and whimsy. Based in Mapleton, she also runs the Faerie Festival and teaches creative arts to kids. A living sparkle, spreading joy wherever she goes.

    With over 30 years of experience, Tim Hall has played everything from stadium shows to soulful music therapy sessions.     Maleny Performing Arts is the town’s heart of creativity! Run by dynamic duo Kirsty and Kester Chalkley, this vibrant school offers classes in dance, music, and drama for all ages. With 25 years' experience and 8 years in Maleny, they inspire talent and spark joy.

  • As the sun sets, the main street of Maleny will close to traffic, and come alive with lanterns, light shows and art projections, live music, street performances, and interactive art exhibitions, installations, dance, puppetry, and theatre, comedy, poetry, and pop up workshops, along with a range of intimate gatherings in local cafes and restaurants, artisan stalls and so much more!

    Performances will be hosted inside participating venues as well as along the main street.

    Depending on the ticket type you purchase, you will be able to access this eclectic mix of entertainment and activities allowing you to meander between venues and along the street, essentially curating the experience that you want to have.

  • Yes. Tickets will also be available for sale (via cash or eftpos) at the Kiosk next to the Maleny Community Centre on Maple St, Maleny.

  • Arts Alive Maleny will go ahead rain, hail or shine. All activities will simply move indoors and under cover.


  • Yes. All children under the age of 16 are free, and all young people under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Yes. People are welcome to pass through the street without purchasing a ticket. All sales go directly into supporting the creative arts community, so please consider supporting our local talent by purchasing a ticket if you do stay to enjoy the performances along the street.
